Fun Mun Run Khong

To allow runners to experience the charm of Nong Khai province, savor its unique local cuisine, and enjoy the scenic views of the Mekong River amid the cool, romantic atmosphere — this event aims to promote tourism in Nong Khai and strengthen connections with the Lao PDR. It serves as a means to generate employment and income for local communities, enhance the country's positive image, encourage public participation, and create new career opportunities in targeted areas. A portion of the proceeds, after expenses, will be allocated to charitable activities in collaboration with the Department of Social Development and Human Security of Nong Khai Province, as well as charitable initiatives in the Lao PDR through the Lao Association of Tourism Businesses.

*Enjoy over 30 booths featuring local delicacies and signature dishes from Nong Khai and the Lao PDR, along with tourism promotion booths offering special travel packages within Nong Khai, neighboring provinces, and the Lao PDR.

1. As this is an international running event that crosses the First Thai–Lao Friendship Bridge, participants will have the unique opportunity to experience the atmosphere of cross-border running. Special permission has been granted to allow runners to cross the bridge into the Vientiane Logistics Park, which serves as the official turnaround point. Given that the Thai–Lao Friendship Bridge officially opens for service at 6:00 a.m., and in order to ensure the safety of all participants, the organizing committee respectfully requests that all runners complete their crossing and descend from the bridge by no later than 5:45 a.m. For any participants who are unable to meet this timing due to unavoidable circumstances, a special shuttle service will be provided starting at 5:30 a.m. to transport them back to the designated drop-off point on the Thai side, from which they may rejoin the official race route.

2. For all Half Marathon and Mini Marathon runners, as this is a cross-border running event, participants are required to wear the paper wristband provided by the organizer. The wristband contains a barcode linked to personal information, which may be used in case of an emergency.

1. ✈️ Flight + Bus/Van (Fastest Option) Fly from Bangkok (Don Mueang or Suvarnabhumi Airport) to Udon Thani Airport (~1 hour), then take a bus or van for approximately 1 hour to reach Nong Khai. Alternatively, rental cars are available at Udon Thani Airport (advance booking recommended).

2. 🚆 Direct Train (Budget-Friendly Option) Direct trains run from Bang Sue Grand Station to Nong Khai Station, with a travel time of approximately 10–11 hours. For added comfort, 1st or 2nd Class Sleeper seats are recommended.

3. 🚌 Direct Bus Buses depart from Mo Chit Bus Terminal (Outbound) and Suvarnabhumi Airport to Nong Khai. Travel time is approximately 9–10 hours, with fares starting at around 380–760 THB.

4. 🚗 Private Car / Taxi Travel via Highway No. 2 (Mittraphap Road), covering a distance of approximately 617–626 kilometers. Driving time is about 8–9 hours.
