General Rules
Every Khon Kaen Half Marathon 2021 entrant has to agree to and follow the rules.
- The event will be held complying to all national laws and regulations.
- The rules include competition and participation rules.
- Organizers must apply standard precautions for every runner’s safety during the event, and won’t be held responsible or incur penalty for any causes of injury or death during personal training or the participation. Runners should have a physical examination by medical professionals before registration and the race day.
- Disclaimers: Organizers won’t be held responsible or penalty for any cause of:
- (a) sickness, injury, or death (First aid will be provided by medical professionals, volunteers, and staff in case of emergency, as well as an insurance policy for all runners).
- (b) lost or damaged property, and
- (c) unexpected delays from uncontrollable factors.
- The Organizers set the rules around the course for runners’ security and safety.
- Participants must follow the instructions given to them by the organizers or race director. Refusal to follow any such instruction may result in penalty or even disqualification.
- Runners must be aware of announcements before and during the competition.
- Copyright of photos, videos, sounds, articles, and records is held by organizers and is allowed to be published on any media. Runners can use contents without permission. This does not apply to commercial use.
- In case of pandemic or harmful air pollution, the organizer reserves the right to cancel the event without refund. Race Kit will be delivered by post instead.
Event Rules under surveillance of Covid-19 Pandemic
- Entrants shouldn’t visit any infected area before 10th July, 2022 for at least 14 days prior.
- Participants must wear a face mask at all time during Race Kit pick-up, Sport Expo and race, however, it can be taken off when keeping distance from one another.
- Runners must pass screening protocol with a body temperature lower than 37.5 degrees Celsius.
Competition Rules
The Organizers reserves the right to disqualify the participation if runners abuse the rules, orders and National Laws.
- Organizers reserves the right to limit and disqualify the participation with no condition.
- Runners who start the race before receiving signal from the race director or gun time will be disqualified.
- The classification of runners will be made according to their personal records. Participants who refuse to start with arranged group, will be disqualified.
- Runners who start 15 minutes after gun time will be disqualified.
- Runners must have their official number securely attached to the front of their clothing and visible at all times during the race. Runners who don’t have bib number won’t allow to pass the start and finish lines.
- Participants have to follow specific route (which guided by arrows, ribbons and signs/ symbols). Shortcuts are prohibited.
- Each runner must run unassisted. Help and support are provided at the specific spots on the route.
- In case the organizers suspend the race, all entrants have to leave the competition immediately.
- Do not wear any costume that will be harmful to another racer.
- Do not wear inappropriate costume relevant to sensitive issues, such as nudity, political issues, religions, advertising, propaganda etc.
- Do not use any tools or sounds that will confuse another runner with the sound of starting pistol.
- Bicycle, skateboard, roller skate, pram, other forms of wheeled progression, or rescue vehicle are not permitted on the course.
- Do not block the course, or cause a delay during the race.
- Stop or give way to rescue vehicle, medical team, and staffs in case of emergency.
- Strictly follow the race directors and traffic control staffs’ instructions.
- Race timing is based on gun time for the classification of runners in Overall half-marathon, and based on finished time for each age divisions.
The cut-off time will be by electronic chip and enforced at each checkpoint. The organizer might also provide rank number labels as a backup timing method for runners who cross the finish line in each run category. For half-marathon, only race result from chip is applied.
- Participants who eligible for reward must have the official number matches with registered name and category.
- ID card, other documents with picture issued by government or a copy any of those must be used to confirm identity before receiving the prize. If runners are not able to present it within limited time according to the announcement, they will be disqualified for the reward.
- Other rules that are not mentioned in this will be conducted in accordance with the rules and regulations of the IAAF
- The Race Director is the highest authority in the event. Runner can raise objections or appeal within 15 minutes after unofficial rank announcement and need to leave a deposit for 1,000 baht. The organizer will return the money back, if the result is not against the objection.
- Stimulants are banned during this event.
- Every participant must pick-up Race Kit that includes bib, running shirt, timing chip, documents, and other equipment according to date and time on the announcement. If not, Participants will be disqualified for the kit.
- Runners must receive the medal immediately after crossing the finish line.
- The Organizers of the event reserve the right to award any prize for half-marathon division, in case the chip was fastened to incorrect spots.
- The Organizers is not responsible for loss, theft, or damaged personal items when using baggage service.
Participation Rules
The Organizer reserves the right to disqualify any runner’s application who doesn’t agree with the event’s terms and conditions. The Entrants must provide details on the official website or registration form.
- Do not double the registration or use different person identity to apply.
- Runner’s rights after registration are not transferable.
- Calculate runner’s ages by applying this equation: Runner’s age = 2022 - Birth year
- Do not use fake ID or documents for registration.
- Entrants are not allowed to edit details after submitting the registration form. Please check carefully.
- The Organizer reserves the right not to be responsible if an error or delay occurs during online event registration.
- The Organizer reserves the right not to be responsible if runners provide incorrect email address.
- Due to many registrants, the organizers may not be able to answers about the race status or results personally.
- Runner who uses another person bib number is ineligible to be awarded and the organizers are not responsible if the right is transferred by the registrant.
- Authorized person can be appointed to receive official number and racing kit by presenting ID card.
- There will be no registration or packet pick-up on the race day.
- The Event Organizers reserve the right to suspend or cancel the race in cases of uncontrollable factors or natural disaster. In those cases, no refund will be given to the Participant.
- The Organizers are not responsible for any costs due to incomplete or incorrect application.
