๑. เพื่อเป็นการเฉลิมพระเกียรติสมเด็จพระเจ้าอยู่หัว ที่ทรงส่งเสริมให้ประชาชนออกกำลังเพื่อ สุขภาพพลานามัยที่ดี
๒. เพื่อนำรายได้สนับสนุนการพัฒนาสังคมในด้านการศึกษา กีฬา และอื่นๆ อันเป็นประโยชน์ ต่อสังคมและประเทศชาติ
๓. เพื่อส่งเสริมสนับสนุนให้ประชาชนทั่วไปออกกำลังกายเพื่อสุขภาพ และห่างไกลยาเสพติด
๔. เพื่อสนับสนุนการท่องเที่ยวของไทยโดยใช้การกีฬาเป็นสื่อ
๕. เพื่อเป็นการประชาสัมพันธ์และสร้างภาพลักษณ์ที่ดีของประเทศ
